Guiding Inclusive Group Play
Chief Play Officers lead team
It can be tempting to leave children alone ‘until’ there's a conflict. But then you miss the opportunities to build all the connections that can prevent those conflicts. You miss the moment when a little support helps a child figure out how they can speak up or listen well.
Being at the side of children, without taking over, allows practitioners to spot all the teachable moments where, with a bit of encouragement or a few words to get their sentence started, children can problem solve and create ‘with’ the group
We guide children so that they can explore more deeply, interact more fully, and share all their ideas …so that every child experiences the feelings of empowerment and joy that come from contributing and participating in the group.
We support children in the most important work of childhood, and that is to engage in inclusive, open-ended play. An elementary school. Children who are good learners will have endless opportunities to learn math, reading and writing, but right now, an early childhood, your children are learning to be those. Learners.
Open-ended play is where your children will learn how to think.
